Well, I have been thinking of this lately. This implementation will improve the grades of students at children. Well according to me, I have found out the following advantages of chess.
  • Chess helps to raise the Intelligence Quotient(IQ) scores of an individual.

  • Strengthens problem solving skilld, planning skills, teaching how to make difficult and abstract decisions independently.
  • Fosters critical, creative and original thinking.
  • Provides practice at making accurate and fast decisions, under time pressure, a skill that can help improve exam scores at school.
  • Teaches how to think logically and efficiently, learning to select the best choice from a large number of options while inculcating discipline and time sense.
  • Challenges gifted children while potentially helping underachieving students learn how to study and strive for excellance.
  • Enhances reading, memory, language and mathematical abilities.
  • Reaches out to boys and girls regardless of their natural abilities or socio-economic backgrounds.
  • It improves the socialising and behaviorial abilities in children. It inspires self motivation and improves your patience, will power and concentration.
  • Chess does not require costly equipments to starty out. It is meant for people of all ages and last but not the least, CHESS IS FUN.
Please leave your suggestions.

It also teaches you too be humble. The adversity can also build character. I think that is something kids are missing these days.

It's an axiom. Doesn't need proof.

Agreed. Chess has taught me to be humble even after winning or losing a game.

Yeah, I agree with you.

Loss in chess is really very painful to bear and it stays in our memory for a longer time. Hence we can avoid making mistakes which we had made earlier.

A chess club would be good for people of the same interest to meet. How often do you play someone you know in person on this website?

They say that kids who play chess do better in school, but couldn't that be because parents who put their kids into chess classes place more value on school in general? Parents who think it's important to teach their kids chess would probably also be trying to teach them other things like math and reading. As opposed to parents that don't really care what their kids do and just let them play video games.

If so, there is no real correlation between chess and doing better in school. It is actually just a corelation between parents who get their kids into chess and parents who have an active parenting style, value education, and are likely to doing things to prepare their kids for school.
