Chess in TV and films

I was watching an episode of the detective series 'Monk' the other day, where a supposed chess genius is playing as white.  He plays E4, followed  by his opponent follows with C4, and the 'genius' announce 'ah the bird opening'.

It seems slightly annoying that shows do so little research, and I was wonder if anyone had any stories of TV/films chessing blunders?

I watched that same episode.

I thought at some stage I also saw the White player (in the start position) tell Black: "you start"
