If you are a strong international tournament competitor, yes. Probably most useful for masters and up..

Good answer, notmtwain!
Take a look at the games that are analysed on chessbase.com. The quality of analysis there is similar to the quality of analysis in the Informants. The Informants are written in chess language (or "languageless" notatation).
Here's a link to a game that was published in Chess Informant. There are very few players who would benefit from a regular subscription to such analysis compared to the cost of the subscription.

Chess Informants used to have almost no words in the annotations, so it would be hard for a beginner to understand. Now they have articles in English by the likes of Garry Kasparov and Mihail Marin, but even these are at quite a high level.
It's hard to think of a magazine that's easy to follow. Perhaps books would be better - Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess or James Eade's Chess for Dummies, or Play Winning Chess by Yasser Seirawan.
Are they worth the price?
Thanks,
Joseph
