Also, I would argue that there is no one perfect line. If chess was ever solved, we would find that the starting position is either +1, =, or -1 (I believe =). Consider if it is =. Then every move white can make will result in a position with black to move which is either = or -1. In that case I would argue every white first move that retains the draw is "perfect", since it cannot be bettered.
I think we would find that many GM games have been "perfect" in this definition, ie at no point did either player make a move that gave away the draw.
