My opinion is that it is a sport of the mind
Actually I Was Wrong, Chess is a Banana - AGC

Only if you are playing seriously though. Because when professionals (or people in general) play in classical tournaments and are seriously trying and thinking they are often very tired and hungry after playing, but if you spam like 3 hours of bullet games you won't feel anything
you join chess.com to play seriously in irl as well (well thats me but)

Oh hecks nah this is absolutely a sport. Specifically my favorite sport
bet, swimming and soccer in the top 5 for me

I'm not really sure, but (kinda unrelated) I don't consider anything decided by a panel of judges a sport (yes, that includes boxing tiebreakers).

chess is a sport. I want to see u without food/rest for five hours straight, using your brain all the time. calculating variations, seeing tactics, etc. you get really exhausted after that. chess is a sport - something so wonderful and amazing and brilliant that I can't describe with words. I devote my life to chess - I am in awe of the entire game, the concept of tactics, tactics themselves, openings, endgames, brilliances, blunders - everything. I love it all
I'm sorry, people making points against this are just using their opinion, and deny when big organizations prove otherwise. Like who will you trust, your dumb self, or respected organizations.
I'm pretty sure the choice is obvious
💀
Edit:
No, the choice is not obvious, people can argue each side, even when many disagree, and I'm fine with that, and I'm biased too, but I was wrong, it's just opinions, and so is this post, which is an opinion. I have come to a conclusion that I agree to disagree, I THINK you're wrong, that doesn't make your view wrong if you disagree with me. I hate those who argue just because 1 person disagrees, but yet again, it can be justified, but those times are very rare. In my summary statement, definitions from an old book seem fishy, and we can change them, making chess a banana.
