chess is hard

It is,I hear ya.

I’ve dialled back playing games the last two months to focus on doing tactics, a new opening as white and a few more defences as black which I hope will serve me well into the intermediate level.

I am also overhauling my game for rapid play which translates to solid openings and positional play. Blitz and bullet although fun and very tempting, is  not for me. I am amazed how fast people can move!

In hindsight, I should of kept up with my puzzle/tactics training and now making up for lost time. Then again, everybody learns differently. I’m an analytical thinker and learn by doing which translates to making a lot of mistakes lol.

I think the key is formulating a plan preferably by a chess coach and just plain hard work.
