Chess is not fun

As the skill level increases the fun level decreases. What do you think?

Where's the fun in moving pieces randomly? (the limit of decreasing the skill level Tongue Out)

You can probably tell I disagree. But I've found chess a lot more fun as I've improved.

Yes, i also think it's the opposite. The better you understand the game, and the less your games are decided by blunders, the more fun it gets!

At low level it was a game. At my level (for me my max limit) it's suffering and makes me not want to play chess

Sorry to be rude, but that was a very dumb post.

Hmm, I dunno. I'm not too good at chess, but I love it. As I've gotten better, I've noticed I can get more into the game and enjoy it while appreciating how different moves affect the game. So far getting better had only made it more fun, so I'll have to disagree for now.

Sounds like you just need to take a break and come back at it fresh. Also, I really doubt you've reached your peak.

Skwerly

if ratings 'don't' mean 'nothing', then they mean everything.  grammar is important!

Chess is not meant to be fun. It's for into self punishment.

damongross

I have found that if I am playing better it is more fun, whether I win or not.
