I haven't been playing long but i'm learning that this site has a great power. It shows who has courage and who is weak. They say life imitates art. Chess is an art that mimics life. I've noticed many players don't rematch. They choose to run away or talk trash and refuse a rematch on account of some rubbish comment like, "oh you are too easy". If you win and then run, it makes no sense. If you lose and run it is worse because it shows you will never have the courage to get better and learn from defeat. Everyone loses and everyone wins at times. The one thing this site is missing is a "3 game challenge". It would be a great option so you are at least allowed 3 games to prove the winner. I will rematch anyone because i love chess. The reason nobody rematches is because of 3 things. 1. They are scared. 2. They are low on confidence and run away in fear of defeat. 3. They flag to win and have no decent game and know a loss is coming. Society has become weak and it shows. If someone runs away, just know you are better than they will ever be because you are brave and have belief in yourself and that is what makes you a winner.

Only 3 reasons and it's all about you, i.e. Your opponent's fear of you. Definitely a winner

4- the opponents phone rang

5 the opponent had to go have dinner

6 the opponent had to go to the washroom.

7 the opponent had to go put a band -aid on their kid's knee

8,9,10, and so on

It looks like the opponent, actually has his/her own life, and things to do.

theres nothing to gain on rematch of some random persons, friend? yes mostly rematch but if random person why bother, the fact stills stands on wether i lose or not winning and playing london might be the greatest insult ive ever done to my opponent but otherwise not accepting rematch and holding my wins is the best and solid way to keep my opponent up all night thinking about that one chess game that they lost XD

Yes, that happens sometimes but usually you see them playing another game. because it says watch. But you are right.

All that happened? sounds like a preoccupied opponent

We just played a game and you declined my rematch. I'm not vexed about it, but thought that this was odd. Good game though thumbup

ohh sorry i was challenged straight away by someone else

Some people only have time for 1 game?

HaileyRocksAtChess

i don't rematch people if they play the London

I think your point extends to limited instances but isn’t necessarily a valid rule of thumb. For example, if someone plays a game and things seem typical (someone outplays the other, lose on time in a close game, etc) I don’t think they owe a rematch. If someone mouse slips or something weird happens that is obviously not typical, I think a rematch is fair to straighten out the record. Again though, it is discretionary. I think a “3 game challenge” feature would be cool, and I’d even say you should be able to set matches: IE: A 3 game, 5 game, 10 game, you get the point. So basically I think only in limited instances should one truly feel entitled to a rematch—but I like the idea about match challenges
