Chess King Software

Not sure if this should go into the Chess equipment forum, but I will try here... Admins feel free to move.   I was googling "Chess for Mac" and it came up with a new piece of software I never heard of called Chess King.   I have Deep Shredder, and Hiarcs for MAC but never heard of this one.   Their site looks a little basic, but wondering if any of you have tried it?  If so, thoughts?

Thank you all!

No experience with it, but it's been around a long time.

I've never bought a copy, but I seem to remember hearing that it uses the Stockfish engine exclusively. I don't think you can import any other engines.

I bought it last night and it uses Houdini 5 but not until you move up in level.   It keeps it at a robot level for a while.   I am not sure if you can force it higher, but so far I like it a lot.  I also bought Deep Shredder.

I think Chess king was the engine that came with chess master software.

Ah, right, Houdini, not Stockfish. Well, I hope you enjoy it.

CONCHESSNESS

I have couple versions myself. No bells and whistles straight to point and effective, if used consistently. Hope it was cheap. Stockfish is free and much stronger but the software will help you more than the engine per say in my humble opinion.

I paid for the platinum addition, not sure what that was compared to the others, but it $109.   I have Deep Shredder and HiArcs, I like them all for various reasons.   All helping me grow.
