WHAT how is the answer not atomic?
Chess Logic Puzzle
For the first puzzle, is there a solution? The diagram in #4 certainly isn't. You can't shift the bishop to the right, it just falls off the board and after that it attacks nothing.
@AwesomeAtti, if this is logic puzzle, The wording of the question and the conditions must be correct. "Shifted one file to the right" while solutions requires NOT shifting to the right, so it's incorrect. Also, even if we consider not moving on the edge as moving, there is still no solution to binary question (light/black), because answer will be that color doesn't matter, both light and black can exist. You can see that bu just shifting position from #4 by 1 rank up or down. So, therefore, puzzle is incorrect, or answer is no solution or completely different solution compared to question itself

Yes, bishop is on a dark square.

Yes, bishop is on a dark square.
Any explanation or clarification? Why doesn't the same solution works if you shift the whole thing up or down a file? Or is this some hidden joke that I'm not getting? Again?
Also, you can get that both color can happen even without specific examples. Chess, if we exclude pawns (there is no pawns in puzzle) have 4 symmetries, and coordinates doesn't matter. By adding condition for file you just divide symmetries by 2, you get 2 symmetries by rank with opposite colors. So, if any solution exist, it *should* have second solution with other color.

I forked it... I accidentally deleted the solution. As I said in my newer post, I was testing AI to generate the logic puzzles. I dont think I like AI helping to generate the logic puzzles, lol.
It did say the solution was dark squared. I agree with Lorudar that there is probably a solution that shows bishop on a light square. Can anyone solve for that?

So it was made by AI? Seriously?
The best possible explanation is that it's complete nonsense. AI doesn't know anything about logic. Or about anything.
Can anyone solve for that?
There is no solution since #1 and #4 contradict each other

The solution in the second one said it was only possible if black played an illegal move and it said the move. As I re-read the solution it just didn't make sense.
I'm giving up on AI generated logic puzzles. lol

fr. I should have quality controlled the puzzle first. Sorry everyone ![]()
The solution in the second one...
I did not even try to do anything with the second one, I was talking about the first one

Solution said dark square... but I accidentally deleted the explanation. I really failed everyone on this ![]()
What color square is the bishop on—light or dark?
By logic - the bishop is on the same color square, because the two pieces moved were the knight and rook.

I did point out that it could be on any colour in post 8
I am rereading the solution… it appears to be an error. I’ll have to find another puzzle to share. Sorry.
