Chess Magazines in Store?

Might be hard to find (my local Chapters' bookstore likes to display them in with the Tennis magazines). Makes sense enough, I suppose (except that chess doesn't usually have 'doubles' players). You're free to ask your handiest stores to start stocking them (the store usually gets full credit for any that are unsold so stocking magazines is a low risk activity).

Does anyone know of any stores/bookstores (in the US) that carry chess magazines like New in Chess or Chess Life?
I checked at a number of Barnes and Nobles and a few other local places, and they don't have anything chess related. Probably an indicator of the dearth of chessic interest in my area, most of them had never been asked that question!

Same situation here in NC. I'm even in a college town. There is a nice bookstore with nearly everything you can imagine in the magazine department except, yep, you guessed it, no chess mags.

Chess Life is available online for members only. The only magazine I ever saw in a newstand was the British mag "CHESS". Then it disappeared, the newstand stopped carrying it. I believe you may be able to buy single copies online for some magazines directly, for instance CHESS and NEW IN CHESS, but you have to check their websites. BTW, some state USCF affliliates have magazines that are available on line.

Barnes and Nobles carried Chess Life and Review a couple of years ago. I don't recall seeing it lately, but I haven't looked. I don't like the layout of Chess Life any more. It far too busy.
