Hello!

I just recently signed up to chess.com and I love it!

However, I was wondering approximately what rating chess masters or grandmasters would have on chess.com?

Just so I could compare where I'm at and where I'm going to get to a master's rank! Thank you!

It depends on many factors but you can check out some of them yourself on the titled players pages

Oh, some of the highest rated players don't player here (if you sort that way and that is the rating in the profile not games here). They were added for a match that was played a while back.

Oh, alright, because I was wondering what a typical master's rating would be on here (chess.com) specifically, so people playing on here. =)

Sorry to spam but you can also check out, http://www.chess.com/echess/players.html, to see the highest rated players and which one are titled (or have submitted the paperwork to be listed as such here).

As far as I know chess.com doesn't award any titles, IM and GM titles are awarded by FIDE and have nothing to do with the ratings here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIDE_titles

Titles such as Master National Master etc are awarded by national chess organizations such as USCF (US Chess Federation) and are also separate of FIDE ratings (ie being a National Master doesn't automatically make you a FIDE master)

Hmm, I didn't read the OP that way but maybe that was being asked. I just thought it was a question about what ratings real life masters would have on the site .... now I'm curious which way the question was meant Foot in mouth

Though, it would be interesting if you could get Chess.com specific titles.

Haha Martin you were right in your answer, sorry for my question, I now see that apparantly it has been phrased incorrectly.

However I did indeed mean what ratings real life masters would have on the site, and thank you for your answers!
