Chess+music=win?

So I I am a chess bullet player and recently I started listening to music as I play,I noticed music and chess normaly results in a win!

I was surprised because I originally thought it was going to be distracting, but it seems to make you win!

you might think its a coincidence but its happened to me too many times and I dont think so

Try it yourself! I recommend fast up-tempo songs to keep you alert if you are playing bullet.

so maybe try your favorite song too!

GOOD LUCK

Less than 2% of the population can multi-task. And yet everyone thinks they can.

Maybe you just improved. Try without music and see if you still win.

If you didn’t gather the data carefully, avoiding other changing variables, then you can’t turn it into a conclusion. (Or has your science teacher has already said that a million times?)

If I have music I can't hear the opponent move and lose focus

but you can see the moves

Hearing the moves is not that important

I have experimented with what music works best as background. I have tried the usual high tempo - bullet. Rapid - more chill music combos and then the complete opposite: meditation music with bullet & high tempo with rapid. At first any new combo seems to help with winning. But then I seem to get used to it and it becomes kinda irrelevant. So I've ended up making playlists with complete opposite styles in the same list. To keep things interesting. The thing is that the brain seems to get used to that too. There's really no other way to keep things interesting than to keep finding new combinations. Or just silence/the sounds of moving pieces. My point: whatever works for you - try it!

Try it yourself! I recommend fast up-tempo songs to keep you alert if your playing bullet. My top pick is a song called Dragostea Din Tei for bullet

you dont of course have to pick this song but it seems to work for me beacuse its my favorite!

so maybe try your favorite song too!

It depends on what music you're hearing, if you're hearing classical or something like that, maybe you actually rly have more chance to win, 'cos it would make you feel better. But if you're hearing like loud, bumpy, sharp music, you probably would blunder more often. So...it depends. I've rly tried it before...

Here's my latest Blitz game summary while listening to FFVII Remake Soundtrack. Won against a higher rated player than myself. 400+ vs 700+. Just an example. But it only seems to work for a while before the brain gets tired. So it's best to stop playing/listening to music after 2-3 continuous losses. Then the momentum is usually gone.
