Long variation, wrong variation
Oh wow!It's the redhead!Nice seeing you here.Props ![]()
Hi. MY name is Praseed. I am from India and I live in Sharjah, UAE. I study in grade 5 at The Indian High School, Dubai and I won a chess tournament there. Think before you play and think all outcomes what will happen.
Long variation, wrong variation
Also I think a lot of less experienced players believe they're calculating when really they're just moving their own pieces around in their heads without considering what their opponents might do (or what the best moves might be). It's more akin to daydreaming than true calculation.
I wasn't able to look 5 full moves ahead with any degree of reliability until I became an 1800 player (ECF=150, if I'm understanding the conversion table right).
I'll consider your words. And thanx everyone![]()
Long variation, wrong variation
Tartakower said something like: "only one but always the right one". when asked how many moves he thinks ahead.
You read, were told, somehow believe that all good players look "X" amount of moves ahead ALL THE TIME. And like pretty much all chess players at one time or another feel you need to see 5...6...7...or more moves ahead...because...well that what good players do.
The problem with that is this. You need to know when to look deeply into a position.

If you see 5 moves ahead, how did you lose in 14 moves?
