@ charles - No, I'm near Boone. Doesn't seem to be any chess here at all, even though there is a huge college here.

I am in the Concord area and am hoping to get more going on in this area.. I have heard great things about the Charlotte clubs but most of those are on the far side of the city from me.. Anyone closer to the northern side of Charlotte?

From what I understand, there is chess going on in Hickory. That is right at your doorstep almost.
