Chess people are more smarter because in checkers you only have to move one piece diagonally, which sounds incredibly odd and plus once you know the game, you don’t even get any intelligence just gives you more intelligence just think about Magnus Carlsen

Checkers is not an easy game. Requires a lot of thinking and anticipating the opponent .
Having said that, I think it's strange that most chess players only think about normal chess and don't give the variants with fairy pieces a thought and try. Capablanca Chess is rich and complex.
