Chess rating if you lose on time

I started playing someone and the chat feature was on. First thing he started typing was rude 4 letter word this and 4 letter words that. I don't need to play people like that. I'm just not going to move. Will my chess rating go down and his go up.??. Just wondering. Doesn't matter  really. I'll find out in a few days.

Assuming it is this game  http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=47379692 currently at three moves completed then there will be no impact on rating.

White's account is currently closed, by him or the site.

No impact on rating for a timeout less than three and a half moves.

In general, simply reneging on one's move is considered rude and unsportsmanlike. I encourage you not to respond to rudeness with rudeness. You have our condolences for the abuse you endured.

You have many options if this occurs in the future. First, you can disable chat. Your opponent could no longer contact you through the game. If an abusive opponent tries to send you offensive messages to your Inbox, you can simply block the member. No further messages would get through to you, although you would have to complete the game in progress.

You should also be acquainted with the procedure for reporting abusive members. Do you know how to report abuse? If not, I'd be happy to post it here, if you'd like.

Yes that was the game TadDude. . I did make the last move and you said his acount is closed. I have a feeling others got the same messages. I did diable chat right after his messages started. I don't think I'll have that problem again.

I have only played a few opponets so have never had to report abuse so no I don't know how to do it. But if I have a problem in the future I will get it figured out.

I do think that for the most part this is a game of gentlemen.
