I have inherited a chess set from my Grandmother. I believe it is of Egyptian descent, don't know a whole lot about it. I believe the pieces are made out of some type of metal, the king stands 5.5 inches high and naked, the bishops are also nude. One side is gold, the other side is silver in color, the pawns are all in a rooster design. If anyone has seen or knows anything about a chess set like this; i would appreciate any feedback or any information you would have on it. The chess set i know was bought in Europe in 1970, but it seems like it was an antique at the time it was bought. I really don't know, and would appreciate any knowledge that anyone might have on this.
... the folks at the house of staunton web site are/were very helpful to me several years ago when I had questions value, rareness and collectability of an old set of mine.
