Chess significant rating inflation

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed a huge rating inflation recently?

Looking on previous forums from as recent as June 2024, players who were 1200 rapid were 85-90th percentile. However, I'm currently 1500 and I'm only 85th percentile according to my profile. 

Does anyone know why this has happened? 

I've noticed something similar. Last year I was 2530 rated in bullet and 1600 in the world, now I'm 2600 rated and 1800 in the world. Unsure why exactly this is though, be new genuine players, new alt accounts or a more/less accurate calculation of rankings/percentiles, could be a combination of things.

It appears to be some sort of glitch, all other players I look at around my rank are 97th percentile and top 500,000 players and somehow mines says top 2,600,000 haha, so that might be the same for yours
