chess study
I've you need a training partner I could play with you. I have my chess.com account since 2020 but I started to play activ a year ago. My rating is also around 1300
I know people that have been playing all their lives and they are not 1300 lol and u made it all on your own in only 4 months not even knowing how the pieces move … wow!
are u sure you aren’t cheating
If I see your bullet 500 ok it makes sense if u tell me u started 4 months ago. The 1400 doesn’t fit
Is 1400 even high? I started around 5 weeks and I'm close to 1.1k, it's just a ≈300 rating difference, maybe the difference is more significant than i think
300 points can be significant. speaking in generalities, if I as a 1600 player play a 1900 player, he should beat me six or seven times out of ten. this actually accounts for tilts were a person beats a higher rated opponent once. But then slides a couple of games after. one of the real signs of chess improvement is being able to consistently draw opponents that you used to lose to.
You started chess only 4 months old and u are already 1350 sounds suspicious to me
I'm sure it is fine. Different people have different starting abilities and intuition with chess. I don't know if I was 1350 in 4 months, but in about 1 year on chess.com, I had already crossed 1500 chess.com rapid! ![]()
I attribute this to a few things though:
- I was always into strategy games, so many concepts already had an overlap with chess even though I hardly knew how the chess pieces moved when I started.
- I was highly motivated to improve (in my case, because I REALLY wanted to win against this chess friend of mine who was much more knowledgeable than me in chess; I didn't even know about chess ratings before chess.com, but looking back, I estimate my rating would have been around 700 and my friend I later found out was roughly 1660 chess.com rating).
- I worked very hard on my chess in that year. It was just a lot of hard work and a true desire to improve and learn.
Anyway, yes 1350 in 4 months I do believe is possible for some people, but understand that this is statistically very unlikely. The average chess rating is currently in the 600s on chess.com, so even crossing 600 after years would make you better than average. 1350 is not exactly prodigy-level, but it is an amazing start and shouldn't be underestimated as most chess players NEVER reach this high of a rating.
Here is a video I made on the average rating and also another video which might help someone around 1300 level and looking to learn more and improve:
You started chess only 4 months old and u are already 1350 sounds suspicious to me
that's because he didnt start four months ago. he opened his account and played his first game six and a half months ago and at that time he registered himself an intermediate player (1200). that is pretty odd behavior for a beginner.
Improving at chess can be quite challenging, but there are various ways to enhance your skills.
For those looking to improve without coaching, here's some valuable advice:
1. Play Frequently: The more you play, the better you'll become at recognizing patterns and making strategic decisions.
2. Analyze Your Games: Review your past games to identify mistakes and areas where you can improve. This self-analysis is a powerful learning tool.
3. Focus on Tactics: Tactics play a crucial role in chess. Spend time solving tactical puzzles and exercises to sharpen your tactical skills.
4. Learn from Masters: Studying grandmaster games can provide insights into advanced strategies and tactics.
