Chess Tattoo Idea's: Help!
G,day
I plan to have my wifes name written in chess pieces across my shoulder blades eg: Samantha would be designed so the "S" is two knights upside down, the "A" as a pawn, the "M" two knights facing each other etc...
Also small icons that resemble my four children eg: ballet shoes, swimming goggles dangling down, a soccer ball as the top sphere of a pawn but i don't think i can jam a quad bike in some how!
I'm adopted from birth, and more than a little crazy. My adopted mother once said when I was little that I sounded Sweedish, so Sweeden had been my adopted heritage for a long time. But look at my avatar; do I look sweedish to you? I look more Italian Mafia with my black hair, fat belly from food, and that crazy hammer! Been thinking of switching heritages, to Sicilian! Which brings me to the thought that maybe I should get something symbolizing e4, c5!
When you are adopted, you don't have a history, a heritage, or know what is of nature and what is of nurture.
There are more people than I thought that have or want to get Chess Tattoo's. Interesting.
There are also jerks where ever you go on the internet. O.o
i'm not a jerk but i play one on tv. next time i'm in slc and i see your awesome feet i won't laugh at you in your face.
I wonder if chess.com might buy some advertising space on your body?
If they paid me well enough for the rest of my life... lol...

LOL...in the mean time, "This space available."
I find it quite sad that people here are repeatedly claiming "chess tatoo= lame" ... at the end of the day, the best tatoos are ones that have personal meaning. A flaming skull might look cool, but when you think about it, getting a tatoo merely for the fact you want something that looks cool is a pretty lame excuse for a tatoo!
as for idea's I'd secound the idea of the pawns going down the spine, i think that could look cool. Also, have you considered anything else other that using the stauton peice designs? I mean, for example, you could actually have a tatoo of an actual knight attacking a king with a sword or something, it would be, i think, a far more dynamic and interesting tatoo to look at. And importantly, it would still have a chess meaning.
For example: http://karenswhimsy.com/public-domain-images/medieval-clipart/medieval-clipart-3.htm ... I think with a little creativity you could make these guys look like pawns. (maybe the "white" one in the middle is getting ready to move diagonally so as to capture the "black" one oposite him on the right?) maybe add a King/Queen behind them...you get the idea.
i know. i'm kinda a dick. sorry. i should just leave well enough alone.
sorry dude.
Just didn't know if you guys had a history or what
