Everyone thinks their peak is their actual playing level. I must constantly remember that my OTB peak came at the end of 11 consecutive tournament wins.
Chess tilt - lost 200 elo in 1 week, ready to quit

You first start playing. You get to 830 in rapid. You drop to 701. You just set rapid down for a while. You play some blitz, or you were trying to. Instead it glitches and you are playing rapid for some reason. That is how i lost 90 elo. Wish me luck getting that back, and if this happens to you, i wish you luck getting it back also.
For me the 200 elo drop seems to be a consistent 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. I'll play a couple weeks at what i think is my level with competitive games. Then a precipitous drop with everyone playing strange lines and tactics i don't understand and i'll spend a couple weeks like this getting outplayed by players by well below my rapid peak. Its as though i'm playing better players at lower elo, but often they have very strong bullet or blitz peaks. My theory is that its a chess.com anti cheating process.
