Many different mental abilities are involved, and i think each individual player has an individual skill set. But i think the most important intellectual traits are the various abilities related to recollection. Like short term memory, long term memory, recognition of patterns while remembering tactical/strategic ideas related to them.
Im doing an Epq(qualification) on how chess and maths interlink and i would love to hear which trait is most important you think in a good chess player,. Any responses will be really helphul. Thank you
