Yes, it can be quite stupid sometimes. For example when it plays very accurately and then suddenly sacrifice its queen for no bloody reason.
Chess vs Computer on chess.com

Computers are suckers for tactics so naturally the double edged Bongcloud Defence is perfect for them, especially the Marathon variation as played here.

My god... I thought you were joking but then I googled it and found various posts on this site. I can't tell if this is a "legit" opening or just a ton of trolls. There are people talking about how it "looks stupid, but actually has merit". I just watched a game with the king marathoning right to the other side of the board and "forking" two pieces on the second rank.
Thank you for exposing me to a completely insane opening.
Hey, I'm a new member, so I apologize if this has been asked before. I couldn't find it with a quick search. Does anyone use the chess vs computer application on this site? If so, have you ever noticed it playing very strangely? I only played two games, and both were strange. The second one was really weird.
I played e4 and f4 as white, and the computer played d3 then moved his king into the second rank. As I developed, he moved his king all the way into the center of the board without moving any other pieces. Finally I started to attack and he moved his king all the way back and started developing. Needless to say, I won, but I have never seen a chess engine play like this.
