Nowadays, sets that can relay moves through the DGT boards are common, at least at the top levels.

Therefore we have a second option. The Challenger should bring the Chessboard. This scenario might make for a more exciting World Championship match. Here the World Champion would be playing on unfamiliar ground, perhaps making it more difficult for them to defend their title.

Specially if he choose to bring his blindfolded "set".

I think at that level the organisers provide the board. But I think usually black decides whose board they play on if they both bring one.

If I knew I was playing black I would use this set to give me the psychological edge as losing to pink pieces must emasculate some men. Plus pink is my favourite colour so it just makes sense.

Did that come from Hugh Hefner's private collection?

@ Lou -

I just dug around for a second to see if i could find Hefner playing on any weird 'sets' like the #23 picture; it turns out that he does enjoy chess, but i failed to find any creepy sets.

(I enjoy scantily clad, good-looking women as much as the next [hetero] guy, but that set creeps me out, man!)
