chessboard sleeves

Okay. It never happened to me, although I have probably between 60 and 80 boards. I usually place them one beside the other.

Dear all,
After ruining another chessboard a 100$ i had enough of it. Are there protective chessboard sleeves or bags where you can place your chessboard in after you are done playing? Does this exist? Because everytime i take my chessboard which leans against the wall, it scratches or has chance of dropping etc and it drives me insane. At the momemt i'm frustrated because im looking at a glaring giant scratch through the wood after i nicked it per accident against a corner wall, it would be so nice to have a protective bag of some kind (not the box it came with though) so you can store it more safely.
Best would be a place in the Netherlands, but i understand this is not always possible so if people could hit me up with their solutions, websites where to order, i would be grateful
With kind regards,
There are Chess board bags/cases, though most a designed to carry full sets. You would need to see if a local site/vendor carries them.
Some examples.

I use cloth place mats draped over the tops of the boards to keep them slightly separated when stacked together. It's not elegant but it's what I had available.

I have all the boxes for my boards. I don't store the boards in them because I change boards a lot and I'm too lazy to keep packing and unpacking them. If your only contribution is to insult people then why bother posting at all?

i ordered a wooden chessboard online and it didn't come in a box. they stuck the shipping label directly onto the wood and there is now gum residue and a discolored patch on board

I store my wooden boards upright against a wall in the plastic sleeves in which they were originally packed.

@Michiel Trummers; Perhaps something like this would work for you these are art work protectors sold by this online company. I'm not certain if they ship to the Netherlands but you can see if they do and if not try to see if an art shop in you area sells similar items. This may be a solution to your chessboard problem. The link as follows:

Update: They do ship internationally to the Netherlands. The price of shipping depends on the weight of the item being sent. You'd have to see if this would be along what you are willing to spend for such an item shipped from an overseas source. Send them an email or place a call if you wish. Their business telephone number is listed on the top of the webpage link I gave you. Best of luck in your searches.

Something like this might work:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3x5-to-24x24-Clear-HD-Seal-Top-ZipLock-Reclosable-Poly-6-Mil-Bags-6Mil-Zip-Lock/173680001188?hash=item28702280a4:m:m4gRFbpRWCXdLgfcjHr0gHw
You could order 1 and see how it works for you and get more if you like them.
They are available in different sizes if you poke around and you can get bags in 8 mil thickness also but the price goes up a bit.
Love those art product protection cases.Inexpensive and would work great,imo.....A good selection of sizes as well.I never knew these existed and felt the cases offered by chess retailers were a bit pricey......Great post, though I am not surprised QTO would know about this stuff.

I highly recommend the chess bags from chesshouse.com. If you can find them somewhere else online who can ship to your location, then you should buy from there.
In my experience, these bags have protected large DGT eboards and large wood boards equally due to their padding. on all sides. Allows my boards to survive transport. Bags for pieces are recommended even when you store the pieces in the pouches on the bag.

Another option is ofcourse, at the end of october in Germany there is Spiel, one of the worlds biggest conferences everything boardgame and tabletop gaming related. Since i am also an avid boardgamer, i might pick up a good bag there Thanks for the many links btw, the DGT one looks good for me, the house of Staunton ones are great, but 50 euro extra for shipping is imo way too much.
