Chess.com computer analysis
Although computers have made tremendous strides they don't understand openings. To compensate for this, most have an opening "book" to assist them to avoid what you just described. Either chess.com has downgraded to a simpler computer engine that lacks this or it is broken. And yes, there have been other complaints. Still useful to find missed tactical shots, but probably not much else....
After a game, the computer analysis told me that playing the Italian Game was an inaccuracy and that I should have played the Ruy Lopez. Is this A) showing that I should play the Ruy Lopez instead, B) indicative that the computer shouldn't be taken seriously, or C) indicative only that the opening analysis doesn't matter? Do other people have this problem of the computer disagreeing with their openings?
