Oh, I thought the thread was referring to the number of spam posts in the last three months.
Seems like a waste to pay these guys to target chess.com. If they really knew how few actual people use the forums here (maybe 200 users out of 10 million?) they wouldn't be doing this.
9.9 million accounts
About 1.5 million are dead
500,000 are sock puppets
200 are spam accounts that are made and deleted everyday
This is just a estimate, but you guys get my point

Right now the number of members is listed at 9.9 million.
So most likely the ten million mark will be surpassed in the next week.
Very cool. Surprised that nobody has started a thread on this yet.
When I got here in late 2011 there were five million.
