Chess.com users and mental disorders

I'm pretty sure that this is not the first time this question has been asked.

But that's what the forums are about, aren't they?

Here it goes...

You may have noticed the huge amounts of ridiculousness and stupidity in the forums. It's something difficult to ignore. Childish behaviour is the rule, not the exception.

But that's basically the Internet. There is no big difference with other websites.

Now, there's a particular type of user that I would like to talk about. Very active. You could say he's everywhere. And then, you read his comments.

And you can understand NOTHING. They are so ambiguous and surreal that you NEVER know what he's talking about. The only thing you know for sure is they aren't about the topic of the forum. That could be boring

Those users have started worrying me. Is it a mental disorder what makes them behave like that?

And, as the answer is obviously yes...

What came first?

Did chess.com make them go crazy?

Or has chess.com some special capacity to attract nonsense?

Or even better, both?

Those users who read this and realize this thread describes them can say it here and I'll put 'em in the list

it is caused by boredom. devil makes work for idle hands

Boredom is the cause of childish behaviour. But some comments can only come from a mentally insane person.

Their mental health is worrying.

I'm pretty sure I have not done any crazy comments besides the meme war with RobertNewAlekhine and my comment about the trebuchet. If you do have chess mental issues or are addicted to chess then please join: the chess nutcases (it's a club)

I read somewhere a while ago, that when walking outside, 1 in 4 people you pass are psychopaths.

You're not crazy. You're just an 8 year old.

It’s insanely ableist to call us “insane”, and that it’s because of disorders

Also I probably shouldn’t have posted on this because most of you were banned

I agree. This thread is so stupid. It's the poster of this thread who's insane

Well, it's like the chicken and the egg debate, but with chess and craziness. Who would've thought? Maybe chess.com has secretly developed mind-altering powers, turning innocent users into baffling comment machines. Or perhaps the forums are a magnet for the eccentric and the enigmatic, attracting individuals who defy the norms of logical conversation. We may never know for sure, but one thing is certain: the forums are a treasure trove of entertainment and head-scratching perplexity. So, let's embrace the chaos and enjoy the nonsensical ride!
