just wanted to say that I hate the new game review so much. maybe will cancel my subscription
Chesscom's new Game review, what the heck happened?
People: uniformly criticize the new game review, claim they will move to lichess and cancel subscriptions.
Chess.com: we cannot cater to everyone.
Well, no need to. Either you listen to feedback from the paying members and disregard on the spot made-up arguments (very few people disliked the old game review, it was very good and highly functional) or people will just leave. Give us the option to choose or revert the change.

We take our user feedback very seriously. Which is why we've been paying attention to this thread and others like it and doing our best to address concerns when possible. But also, most people who like a change will quietly go about their day while those who dislike it will post publicly. The public posting is super helpful by showing us ways we can improve the product, but it also will skew highly negative (tho we have received positive feedback as well!). To get a more holistic view of user opinion, we rely on quantitative product metrics in addition to threads like this and users who reach out to support.

(tho we have received positive feedback as well!).
I've been reading all of these threads I can find for a long time now, and I saw ZERO positive people. So unless you're clinging to one single semi positive sentence in a LONG very negative post once in a while, that's just not true.
Anyway, I too am seriously considering stopping my paid account. And I will remind you I was DAYS away from upgrading to the Platinum Tier for more of the reviews I USED to love, and even gifting my dad a Gold sub so he could take lessons!!!!
Also, ENOUGH with the "we're totally listening to feedback" line; it's SUPER generic and tells us NOTHING. Tell us what you are actually changing!!!

So what quantitative metrics are you using? Is there a poll somewhere I missed where users are saying they like your new game review better than the old one? And that they want the tabs gone? Please point me towards these quantitative user metrics that are showing support for your new game review.
Dear Dylan, thanks for the explanation. I don't mean to be argumentative, but what you wrote kinda feels like this to me: if noone is complaining then they like it, if some people complain then it's just an overrepresentation of a small but loud group of negative people.
However, I saw more people, including myself, saying that we never post publicly, never have before, but the Game Review triggered them to somehow search a channel for feedback, including titled players!! I have always loved chess.com, I like the design (the boards, the piece sets, etc.), so I definitely don't consider myself a toxic, loud negative person, the one who only complains.
Anyway, I think I made my point, and again: thanks for reading the comments and for engaging with us. Best regards
1) Agree - he's basically saying it's win-win for his product. Positive feedback is representative. Negative feedback is just skewed. And he has some supposed 'quantitative' results supporting the change. BS until they're shown.
2) Agree - I'm yet another person that has never complained on the Chess.com forums about a product. But this change was so obviously bad I did my first forum search, and was not surprised how quickly I found multiple like-minded threads.
It's like Microsoft of facebook: they are too big to suddenly fail
There's a difference. They have proprietary technology or a "moat." Chess is just a board game. I personally only paid for diamond because the review system was easy to use and I had no idea about the open source chess at the time which offers an even more interesting review system with unlimited reviews. I can already tell that they'll only come to this realization when the money stops flowing in and people get laid off. By then, it might be too late because they would've found out about the competitor if one could even call it that. Are they a competitor if they don't charge people for the same services?

EDIT:
Today we released the new version of Game Review on web to all members so we can no longer support moving people to the old version. While I know not everyone loves the change, it's something we are moving forward with as we have found a lot of positives as well, and it's hard to balance the needs of our 150 million members.
I will say that the feedback from the community was instrumental in improving the product since it was initially released as we have implemented many changes. We also have a Support article here that goes into even more detail about the new Game Review design and some of the related settings. https://support.chess.com/en/articles/9363826-game-review-redesign

Hi all! Sorry for the frustration with the new version of Game Review. I have migrated everybody in this thread who had a negative experience back to the old version of Game Review (let me know if it did not go through for you). We will eventually be moving to a new design, but will be sure to think through all of your feedback. Thanks as always for sharing your opinions. It helps make Chess.com and the community great!

Thanks game review is back to normal for me. Unfortunately I will not be continuing my membership for this reason alone because I know what's coming.
Edit: Doesn't say how many times I played the opening and winning rate anymore but I don't even care at this point. Just a bad experience over all. I regret buying two chessup2 boards now.

Strange. It shows it for me. Can you share the game link with the issue?

It usually happens for my games as well. Meaning it usually only shows the full text a day after the initial review!

Mine seems to be bugged and is reviewing my opponent instead? Can't say I like the new version, just feels like a complete downgrade in every way.
I won't be continuing a subscription if the review function stays on the new version.

By default it's probably reviewing both. However, it should show the game from your side. You can change it to show only the color you played by using the Settings icon next to the board, the change Review As under Interface > Review to the color you played in that game
After it should follow your side in reviews.

Thanks for reverting my account, for now - the tab back and forth feature is just so nice, and takes relatively little physical space - PLEASE consider keeping it in the final rollout!
its so dumb
