Even though we take your 2000 blitz points into consideration, you still shouldn't beat 2700 rating. Which means Chessmaster lies in 700 points, which is an abysm. So, we are still in the same point as before.
Chessmaster personalities
The King got OBLITERATED!!!! wow.........yeah that hurt to watch i always wonder WHAT is it about engines that make one better than the other.......i mean they are computers.......they SHOULD theoretically be able to see EACH AND EVERY variation......i CANNOT understand how one PULLS MORE out of a position that another program. Like i said earlier.......sometimes i will watch Stockfish play Chessmaster and look at EACH move that they recommend OFTEN times EACH program is exploring DIFFERENT lines. Something tells me deep down a computer expert could play with the ChessMaster parameters and make a MONSTER lol. I mean theoretically with enough memory to explore ALL lines ANY program should be able to make some PRETTY cool moves. I'm fascinated by computer Chess......like how they pull GOOD moves out is a function I THINK of the evaluation function and the BASIC fact its a computer. So u program it to make good moves......you give it parameters......NO WHERE in there do you tell it to make bad moves........so BY DEFAULT it smothers you SLOWLY improving its position bit by bit until it CRUSHES you. I know that's not a very technical explanation but you know what i mean......its moves are more a by product of the evaluation function and the rules of the game more so than it ACTUALLY MAKING a "good" move. I try to think that way but it TOO hard.......i JUST CANT see the board the way the computer does. I try to PULL the best move out of a position but i just cant manage it

@tacticalthedisaster
That's right, it's so interesting
"they SHOULD theoretically be able to see EACH AND EVERY variation" -> I don't think they would be able. Chess has too many combinations:
"There are more game-trees of Chess than the number of galaxies (100+ billion), and more openings, defences, gambits, etc. than the number of quarks in our universe!"
source:
http://www.bernmedical.com/blog/how-many-possible-move-combinations-are-there-in-chess

It's surprising to think that they don't get lost in so many combinations and actually play so strong. It's like giving intuition to a machine... maybe one day even a soul in order to make them play chess without calculations.... (I'm in delirium now, I know).

But all of this computer chess always makes me wonder the same question: How can it be possible that we humans see the best moves without calculate millions and millions of posibilities like a computer?
I mean... What do we have here in our brain that make it possible? what's intuition? How can we even do it in blitz chess, so fast, matches at 3 minutes?! What kind of machine is a brain? omg
Well i think the reason they dont get lost and dont quote me but i think it something called "hash tables" an engine is able to explore a line and assign it a "value" as such it does NOT need to go back down that line and explore the same or similar variations for NO REASON. In that way in can basically KEEP REVIEWING the position OVER AND OVER again until it comes up with a good move....no matter how minute the advantage may be.......its STILL a small advantage. As humans THAT is precisely what we cannot do.......we explore a line and forget it........we DO NOT have a LIST of candidate moves and ALL their pros and cons to then come back and pick the BEST one.........that is impossible for a human although i ACTUALLY try to think this way. If i'm a 1500 now how good will that type of thinking suit me as i improve to say 1900 or better......i hope i start making AMAZING moves and sacrifices that just boggle the mind When reviewed by Stockfish they will RECOMMEND my sacrifices
reply to #111
to be honest i think the mysteries of the brain are YET to be FULLY explored that;s why u try to PUSH my brain to its LIMIT........but as yet that limit is ONLY 1500 lol but as i stated earlier which i think is QUITE fascinating.........i played a game where from move 7 or so onward......i played at the level of a Grandmaster, that is kinda crazy.......again i have NO misconceptions about what happened. It was a FLUKE for 10 moves......i was motivated and focused. But it raises questions.....if a 1500 can make the SAME moves that the STRONGEST engines recommend, what can a Grandmaster do? Or even a 1900? It crazy.......i find i play better after watching my engine play for a while....not sure why but just watching it play makes me play a bit better
Yo know what else i have noticed? In response you your statement about how we as humans see the best moves......there have been times i am looking at a variation. Only to think it was BS.......then after i lose i see that had i followed the line out a few moves.......i would have seen won a piece or more.......there are ALOT of lines where i find the FIRST move in the variation intuitively but the rest is difficult to sift thru. This happens ALOT and for me its just a matter if skill at my present skill level. But i think its just another signal that later on with proper study i might find some pretty cool variations.

I agree, our intuition can see immediately the good moves (sometimes the blunders too), but without enough depth... that's curious.
Maybe because one zone of the brain is in charge of intuition and another side is for calculus and these two sides can't communicate so fast.
I'm just guessing. i don't know much about neuroscience

I don't know if it was the settings. I played 5 games against Alekhine in a friend's pc and his perfrormance was highly unstable going from 2700 to 1500. I won one easily , lost 2 very convincingly ,and another 2 that I could have drawn but misplayed the endgame. So there is somekind of weird randomness although I am not sure which setting is responsible for that. Chessmaster tries to imitate human play but the results are terrible.
Well, I believe Alekhine was prone to drink heavily. I believe that was the main cause of the loss of his WC title to Euwe, so perhaps CM is being true to his erratic play.
LOL hahah
And if you play with Fischer personality it's possible that he doesn't go to the match, and you stay in front of the computer waiting for days, but he's not going to the match unless someone raise the prize.

Ah, you guys got me going. I was pitting Chessmaster 10 against Stockfish 8, but it was just too unfair. I changed it to Chessmaster 10 vs. Phalanx XXV. (Chessmaster is only a 40 point underdog.)

Incredible FIGHT TO DEATH IN MY HOUSE!
Two fishes fighting each other, flapping their faces with their fins and tails!
Stockfish 10 in my phone VS stockfish 10 on my computer:
It's a draw! because of 50 move rule. After 102 moves (204 plies match!) Suddenly my phone gave an error message and after that said "Draw by 50 move rule!" But I don't know why Arena didn't give up, didn't show any draw message and I had to adjudicate manually. Maybe my phone just got tired and gave up
It's been soooo cool. Stockfish in computer begun winning and suddenly the phone rose up again from the dead, like a phenix, in move 77

The phone was thinking between 200 and 300 thousand nodes/second.
The computer was thinking between 3 and 4 million nodes/second.
Incredible that the phone could get a draw I'm so proud of my phone now
I just checked myself:
I'm not 1200, I'm 1342. And I was 1446, almost 1500, just I said before, give or take some points it doesn't matter.
