Many chess players don’t just love to play chess, they love the game itself.

It’s hard to say what I exactly love about the game of chess, but there’s something special about how the game forms together and the act of both players making plans against each other. It’s this imbalance versus that imbalance and it’s a clash of ideas.

I just love learning, and chess is one of the most difficult games around. I love it for being difficult, and making me grow

Absolutely nothing. It makes me crash out for every stupid mistake I make, make me feel like a complete idiot for every win I let slip through my hands, and mentally drains me every time I tilt but yet somehow, some way I always seem to come back to just want to play again. Who knows what you want to call that lol but the emotional swings are brutal. Maybe I do love it, maybe it's just my brain going insane and trying to boost my ego but whatever it is ig at least half if not most of us all experience this and call it "love for the game". Chess is a very confusing game and not just due to the complexity but what it does to your brain at the same time.
