dputydog, are you really whining that someone won't play with you and then calling them childish? I thought you were making a joke. It sounds like something one would hear on a playground.

 1 reason I've noticed, is this: Protecting their rating.  If u're playing a rated game, a higher rated player, does not want 2 play u, win, & get 2 points; as if u win, the higher rated player may lose 10-15 points.  That is the gamble of playing (some) lower rated players; & as a gamble, reasonably, it's not a good bet.  4 example: A 1900 rated player, may play a 1500 player; but not a 1300 rated player.  N this situation, the loss 2 the lower ranked player, 1500, won't hurt his rating, as much as a loss 2 a 1300 rated player.  There r other reasons; yet, I'll just start with this 1.
