If we are talking the common flu, I don't care about it much. I just eat soup and rest. If we are talking COVID or some other life threatening virus, then I would be more willing to get a vaccine. Why is this a conundrum to you?

Yeah that's the trade-off with communism.
On one hand, the government will hide everything from its citizens and do whatever it wants with them, but on the other hand they can effectively control the population with force which stopped the spread.

I don't see any evidence that China deliberately caused this. I can say from living in Wuhan in 2017, I can see how something like this could have occurred. I spent 2 months, pretty much quarantined myself because of the lifestyle of the people in the south. You can see the same from South Asian countries too. If you move to the northern parts of China, it is not nearly as bad.
If you want to have a beef with someone, go to Wuhan and complain to them.

I'm 66 years old. I was vaccinated as a child against all sorts of illnesses. As an adult I received boasters. When in the Air Force I was vaccinated again for certain illnesses not common to Canada but that I might come in contact with during travel to foreign countries.
