Clash Of Claims

After 16 rounds

G.M Kramnik has  a 7.5 to 6.5 lead against I.M Martinez.

Seems Jose can beat the G.M. without cheating- makes me wonder if he was cheating at all.

Vlad has 5 wins to Jose's 4, with Jose winning the last two games.

Final day tomorrow

Well online Jose has scored 9.5/11(if we exclude the 2 move game) against Kramnik

Jospem wins overall 14.5 to 11.5, there was an apparent server glitch at the end and the whole thing ends in farce. Who would have thought this would be the outcome? (answer - everyone).

It really doesn't prove anything either way. We know jospem is a good player, which we already knew. It only shows that jospem's rating over 3000 is probably legit, winning all those titled tuesdays still a tad bit shady. Kramnik has never won or been close to winning a titled tuesday as far as I know, though maybe Kramnik just takes it too casual online.

It must really be a catastrophe to Kramnik. In fairness he did say before the match he wasn't expecting to win, but I'm guessing he really was expecting it and just said that as insurance for should the worst happen. Think how over the moon he would be if he had won, especially by a couple of points, and how he could go on preaching about cheating and so on. Now he's never going to live it down that jospem beat him.

26. There was going to be 28 but there was a server glitch in the 27th when Kramnik's evaluation was +7 but a server glitch caused him to run out of time. At that point they decided to just quit the match as jospem had already won it anyway.

They weren't using the same time control as Title Tuesday though, and Kramnik's nonsense might have distracted the young Martinez causing him to place worse.

Kramnik is a completely different opponent without prep on a random titled tuesday. After proper prep and only focusing on one opponent its totally different to play Vlad.
