made a move, clock keeps ticking, i loose the game. Terrible

Saucelands2016

Terrible. I have had to reset my whole profile. Lost a whole string of games when this happens. No point playing on here until this gets fixed. Personal opinion is server is getting overloaded or hacked.

Version 3.9.16 of the iOS app was available in the Apple Store from 22 hours ago - or that's what says from what I see in the store from here in Australia. if you're still having this problem even with this version, please let us know!

Yes. This is a thread about clock problems with the iOS app, and using that to advertise someone's stream was not appropriate.

Downloaded, installed. And the very first game I played, I was hung with the clock not moving. I exited out, relogged in, finishing the game, losing on time, since I donated so much time because of the failure to fix the problem

Hi

DeepGreene

The new iOS version that addresses the clock and reconnection issues was approved by Apple only a couple of hours ago. (It may not yet be available in all Stores.) It's v3.9.16 (2), which you can see/confirm at the bottom of the Setting menu within the app. Is anyone continuing to see the same issues on that version? Thank you.

Right. Sorry about that.

speaking of advertisement, where on chess.com is advertising allowed?

You can create a post advertising something in the right category in the public forums and bump that every so often, but don't create multiple threads about it.

You can also mention it as a postscript when posting something relevant in a completely different thread, but don't do that in every post because that's (a) spam and (b) makes it clear that the main intention is advertising rather than contributing to the discussion.

Whenever this bug happens to me (it only happens on my phone, not on my computer) I just close the app and go back in and it's all fixed. You will have some issues if you play Blitz or Bullet when this happens because you will lose 10-30 seconds of your time but I guess it's better than to just lose the game.

Is Version 3.9.16 (2) available to you in the App Store yet? That version should fix this issue.

Depends on what you want to advertise: if it's something like your own general stream, then probably Chess.com Community

Can you send any other questions on this in a new thread or via PM? I'd like to keep this thread about the clock problems with the iOS app. Thanks!

The current version from the App Store, that I have installed is 3.9.15 (2). And it isn’t fixed.

Former_mod_david

@FrankJamesMarshall 3.9.16 (2) is the version that it's been fixed in - keep checking for updates and as soon as it hits your App Store, update your app and you should be good to go.

You need to close the app and re-enter

Until you get version 3.9.16 (2) installed, then yes - that's the workaround. Once you install the latest version (once it's available from your App Store), this problem should be fixed.
