Usually I abort or resign games that I expect to be dull. For the last couple of days, I've been so bored that I decided to play a few. Somebody will play the Philodor or Colle and I would give them the kind of game that they want. Never advance a pawn past the third rank. Never attack a piece. Freely retreat my own pieces to the back rank whenever threatened. etc. Lo and behold, about half of these guys abandon the game after 10 or 12 moves. What is going on?

Not here evidently.

No, not here. Since you can't play here anonymously and I do resign about 9 of 10 games, my rating here would be so low that I could never get a half decent opponent. I won't name the exact sites because this site frowns upon it but yes I do play elsewhere. Mostly two sites that allow anonymous play and disallow chat.
