Play a lot, analyze your games, and primarily study tactics. Your knowledge of openings, endgame, middlegame, etc. will come from analyzing your games and going over grandmaster games. Only study one of those specific topics if it is clear you are specifically losing because of that topic.

As a coach, I can help you with any part of that process, as well as teach you EXACTLY how to think at every stage of the game. Good luck! happy.png

First of all, you are doing fine. You've hit your highest rating very recently, a few days ago, and going up and down in rating is normal.

One thing you could improve on is time management. In more than a few of your games you are lost fairly early in the game. But to be fair, I have to say that your time management isn't really bad, I've seen a lot worse, but just a thought.

You didn't mention analyzing your games in your post. You should absolutely do that. And I don't think quick computer analysis, I mean for you to go through your games thoroughly.

If you have the time, preferrably go through the game without the engine first. So, remember any variation you were thinking of during the game, and look was it any good for instance.
Check any bigger deviation in evaluation and try to figure out the truth behind it. But be realistic, if you don't understand something, don't lie to yourself that you do, simply move on. That way, little by little you will learn some new things. Perhaps in a certain game you made a pawn weakness, perhaps you messed up in the endgame and didn't play actively enough.

You could profit a lot from analysis as you are around 1 300 rated, so you already understand some things. Keep learning about chess passively as well, that way your analysis will be better and better as well.

Here is one short example. I will not analyze the whole game, just one position from your game:

You will be able to understand more and more through combination of analysis and passive learning about chess.
