CM 2000 defeats CM 11 Grandmaster Edition

I don't know programming but something doesn't seem right. I believe the Chessmaster program was greatly improved in playing strength beginning with CM 4000. It may have somdthing to do with the CM GUI. I have run Arasan 23.2, Slow Chess 2.9, and Gull 3 engines and they should all easily crush CM 11 but the games seem to be unusually close. I installed the imported engines with the .exe files so I'm wondering if somehow the GUI is actually playing the CM 11 against itself. I can't figure out any other explanation. Slow Chess is rated over 3400 on ccrl and Arasan and Gull 3 aren't far behind. I know CM 2000 isn't close to that strength so there is something else going on that I don't understand.
I thought it was just a fluke that the second edition of Chessmaster (1986) could even come close to beating the last edition put out in a game but after running the CM4000 and CM5500 engines directly against the default personality the results are CM 11 Grandmaster Edition has only won one out of four games played against the earlier versions. They all used the CM 11 book and I changed the default selective search that is given to all the imported engines from 6 to 13 and gave the imported engines the same amount of RAM as CM 11. CM 11 is one and one against 4000 so far. Here is a game with CM 2000 running at 10 seconds a move.

I have a purchased copy of CM 11 but I understand it is considered "abandon ware" and can be downloaded for free now. If I'm wrong about that I'll stand corrected. I downloaded the 2000, 4000 and 5500 but could't run them in windows 10 so I just installed the engines in CM 11 and they run perfectly. I know CM 11 is dated but the tutorials are among the best anywhere.
