$20/ hr?????? I met an International Master here at chess.com. His fee was just $10/ Hour. of course one will choose to deal with an IM even if his fee is twice than that of you.

A Fide Master is conducting a webinar [group coaching] on endgame that also for 3$ per person
Group sessions are always priced less expensive since the number of people in a single session are more. A one-to-one session is always going to be more, and from the research that I've done, the average I've noticed is around $30 an hour

Perhaps that was a very luck deal, because $10 an hour for a private lesson is actually really inexpesive
. I've researched and found out that typically a private one-to-one session is priced around $30 an hour on average. There will always be a few exceptions here and there, and if you're lucky to get an IM for $10/hour, then that's something you prolly wouldn't want to miss out on.
Cheers,
Well, I highly recommend him as coach due to his effective communication and easy to understand accent. Also, his teaching is pretty much on the topic you are weak or you need more attention.
bloody ripoff! sounds like a gold digger
I'm sorry you feel that way, but instead of spilling out random BS, I suggest you get facts straight and then put across a sensible comment. Please identify a coach anywhere else on the internet who is offering coaching lesser than $20 an hour and is a Titled player. Thanks.
Sorry for saying but there are players who have a higher rating here who coach for free or nearly free...
Did you even read what I wrote here? Being a GM doesnt make your opinion more valuable.
All I said is that he is not even a titled player, does not give any information about himself and charges more money than coaches that are better at chess than him. Not to mention that I know several people that coach for free. You should use some empathy. Imagine you were a 1300 player and you want to improve at chess... What would you rather choose? A titled player who gives you detailed information about himself, who has tons of tournament experience and so on or an advanced guy who you dont know a lot about who charges even more than the titled player?
I guess the answer is obvious. And I dont mean to be mean but its just the truth.
And again, does the OP do coaching as a living?
Ah and bunnyplayer please stop calling me a "troll". When you are adult you should try to act like one. Thank you!

A couple of things:
A) The higher your rating, does NOT necessarily make you a better coach. I may not be a titled player, but I have 10+ years of coaching experience as I come from a background where I specialized in education, and I deliver the right advice a chess player needs for consistent and steady improvement.
B) Instead of saying you know people who offer much lesser or coach for free, stop telling and start showing. Send me some information about where could one find these coaches? Please, I'm waiting.
C) I had a student of mine who was previously coached by an International Master, and he found it TERRIBLE. Why? because that International Master had no idea how to communicate effectively with his student and build a curriculum for him to learn with. He was a good chess player, but terrible teacher.
I on the other hand, as I mentioned above, I am not a titled player but a decent chess player with an ELO strength above 2100+. I have experience in teaching and understanding the needs of a student. I have been in the education sector for 10 years and come with a lot of background experience in teaching chess.
We live in a capitalist economy. Ah really?
Of course I am not forced to take his coaching but I am free to say my opinion so as you and anyone else.
I also do not understand why you constantly try to needle me. I have no reason to be jealous of him or anybody. Envy is a poison of the weak minded people.
At the time I am building up a new company, dont worry about my finances.
May I ask what you do for a living? Chess I guess...
Praveen, may I ask you if you're 2100 strength why is your rapid and blitz ratings on fide only 1600?
I guess he is talking about 2100 chess.com strength
Greetings fellow chess.com users,
As previously posted in a separate thread about the coaching services that I offer, I would like to re-post the same since the launch of chess.com v3.
My coaching profile can be found in the "Coaches" section in the main "Share" tab of chess.com.
My coaching comes at a very affordable fee, and the quality you receive will meet your expectation. I currently coach about 5 people on chess.com and look forward to connecting with many more chess players interested in getting better.
In a nutshell, here is what I can help with:
1) Openings
2) Middle game tactics
3) Endgame ideas
4) Game analysis
5) Specific themes - (eg - Zugzwang, Prophylactic thinking, restriction, counterattacking)
I have designed over 5 complete chess courses using chessbase, and these are categorized by rank, from easy to hard.
My fee is $20 for a 60 minute session, and $35 for a 2 hour session.
Feel free to get in touch if you are intersted.
Cheers,
Praveen Sagar
I have advice please try to show other how you teach by giving them a demo or like a recorded video then you will get many students and other wont say you this
Praveen, may I ask you if you're 2100 strength why is your rapid and blitz ratings on fide only 1600?
Danny, the reason for that is because I have only participated in two FIDE tournaments. One was blitz, one was a rapid. The Rating average of both tournaments were 1400, held in Bangalore, India. I have not been given the opportunity to participate in many FIDE tournaments and hence those ratings are completely based on my performance in only the two tournaments I have ever played.
I am going with my ELO on chess.com since this majorly where I invest my time into playing chess.
Praveen, you didn't use an engine to boost your rating on chess.com did you? So it would make you more attractive to students? LOL
Of course not, I would be happy to play with you and you could decided for yourself if you think im 1600 or I'm more capable. Secondly, I would be banned by now and lose my premium membership if I was cheating by using engine assistance on chess.com. I currently play only blitz and bullet on chess.com. Please let me know if you are still not convinced of this, I'll be happy to provide more information about myself.
