As a (younger) child I would recieve many chess boards as gifts. Over time, I unknowingly had developed an extensive collection that includes:

1 from guatamala

1 from honduras

1 from indonesia

1 from China

2 from Israel

1 from St. Martin (Caribbean)

4 from USA

I wonder if anyone else has any interesting chess collections?

I just have a book collection, maybe about 50.. lots on openings and other junk Cool.

I hope to get a few old ones written in Russian someday, and also a few autographs of great players

Id love to get a Petrosian autograph someday. Fischers auto is faked more than every other chess player (or so I hear) so I doubt I will ever make a big purchase on him.

one that would seem affordable (for living players) would be Matthew Sadler. great player, seems like a cool guy too.

I have a small collection of chess variants:

  • Seirawan Chess
  • Omega Chess
  • Proteus
  • Bosworth
  • Minister's Chess
  • Knightmare Chess
  • Cross Chess
  • Card Chess
  • Tile Chess
  • Star Trek Chess

And while they're not exactly chess variants, I also have sets for Shogi and Xiang-qi. I also made boards so that I could play Capablanca Chess and Glinski's Hexagonal Chess.
