Haha
Comment if you agree that Magnus and fabi shouldn’t have drawn
I can understand that Carlsen was carefull today, but i am not agree he should give the draw like he did.
Carlsen apparently prefers his chances in the playoff. The draw offer wasn't a bad decision.
well but playing for a win with the b5 break wasn't that much of a bad choice either, I don't think he would have taken that many risks. he may be the favorite but it's not that going into the playoff is risk free, I wonder if this really was a very practical decision, I sort of have the feeling that he has some sort of psichological hindrance.
He can be the greatest without playing like an engine.
He can be the greatest while having #2 close behind him (Kasparov barely edged out Karpov for example).
This was just a practical decision. Maybe not great, but it's not bad.
I was impressed with how Carlsen outplayed Caruana in round 12.

I was actually impressed with a5 a4 because he kept his attacking chances while making it hard for Caruana to find moves, which also made use of the time disparity.
But sure, maybe he was showing signs of bending under the pressure.
As for who is favored, Carlsen is ~100 points higher in rapid and ~200 points higher in blitz.

Practical because he's weighing his losing chances in game 12 vs his losing chances in the playoff.
Of course it could be argued that his losing chances were so small that game 12 should just be a "free roll" (as Svidler is fond of saying) but I guess the psychological pressure influenced the decision as well.
and now what?
why match anyway?
is better to play one day rapid instead?
if MC win, after this show i 12. round, by the blitz, we should call him WORLD CHESS CHAMPION?
when will FIDE realize that match is matter of history? If there was tournament or at least top 16 in some kind of knockout matches, at least someone would made some efforts and would deserve the title.
it was a metaphorical Armageddon game for them. Since Fabi has no chance in the play off. Carlsen only needed a draw to 'win'.

Historically, often the world champion retained his title if the match was drawn.
For example the 1987 Kasparov - Karpov match was a draw after 24 games, and Kasparov retained the title.

It was. Caruana had a minute and a half per move and defensive moves are always harder to find. Get to time control and offer but he has a chance of losing rapid so a draw doesn't gift him the title.
Magnus should have won....
