I didn't see anything wrong with it. If anything the expressions thing appeals to the younger viewers.
commentary analysis for Carlsen-Nakamura

Get lost kiddo, Im a Danny Rancho fanboy.
Seriously tho, I didnt see anything wrong with the commentary, if you want to see Yasser talking to people as if they were retards or mentally disabled go to the St.Louis youtube channel. I liked Hess comments, they were precise and chess related only.

I think they're a good team. I personally love Danny Rensch's color commentary and dry, nerdy humor. And I think Robert Hess does some good straightforward analysis to go along with Danny's commentary. I also liked them explaining really basic chess rules and concepts during the games. It was cool being able to watch it with my girlfriend who just learned the rules of chess and not feeling like she was lost. I'm sure other people who barely know anything about chess were watching with their chess freak friends and benefited from that too.
Needs to stop trying to appeal to a "broader" audience when your peak viewership is 20,000.
Since that's really big for a chess stream isn't this exactly when you should be appealing to a broader audience?
---
That said, his non-stop talking was too much for me. How can I focus on what's happening if you're making some ridiculous observation yet again? After a few minutes I muted it. After a few more I closed the window and watched from chess.com's live game area.
IM Rensch: Needs to ditch all the hackneyed expressions. Needs to stop trying to appeal to a "broader" audience when your peak viewership is 20,000. Those are just chess players. Despite that, he has a great voice and should really study Seirawan when it comes to the gold standard of broadcasting. Yet, I think he lacks the skill and in-depth analysis as someone as GENIUS as Yasser.
GM Hess: too BORING and should not be commentating. The WORST voice for this. He might be useful as a text commentator.
Final thoughts: We need to clone Yasser's brain right away and just put tons of Yassers covering every chess game. I just went to try to buy a poster or some kind of trophy in recognition of the "Great Yasser" God of all that is chess normalness and excellence. No he didn't try to take on Putin either (not smart) and found this guys webpage: https://kevinspraggettonchess.wordpress.com/author/kevinspraggettonchess/page/425/
^ That guy deserves more study. He might be onto something.
