I'll try it out, but do you agree with Urk that all tactics are bad? Does Urk think that tactics shouldn't be used in-game either? Urk must be a very positional player.
it isnt urk , id say the best improvement takes something from you ie cash , this will get you tutored by very strong players and thats bound to see a player progress , sadly even the game where a pauper can beat a king is still not so equal as i naively thought as a child new to the game

I'm a big fan of mixing up your training. Do some easy tactics fast, some harder tactics slow, some positional stuff, some endings. The most important thing is to keep enjoying what you do or you won't persevere.
The tired old trope that regular, sustained practice on Tactics Trainer is essential for improvement.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
What else?
the belief that a snarky , superior attitude makes you right;
btw, look up "trope;" your usage of it does not make sense in context

"Significant, or recurrent theme; a motif"? Makes total sense actually.
wrong. a belief, true or untrue, is not a "theme." it is merely a belief. look up the word theme. and trope (again)

Tactical skill is required for success; improvement in tactical skill is required for improvement. Nobody on this site has said Tactics Trainer was the only way, or even the best way, to improve tactical skill
I've heard that the better you get at tactics, the less benefit you get from getting even better at them - it's a law of diminishing returns type thing
Since Urk is already a strong player, what he says is probably true in his case.
TROPE:
b : a common or overused theme or device : cliché
It's a perfectly correct usage of the word in this topic.
Somebody on the internet once questioned my use of the word "conflate"
but he was wrong also.
The Tarrasch French is ok for white. The terrible middle game or end game moves played by thousands of players shouldn't deter one from making good opening choices.
not for a 2100 level, obviously. but for a 1000-1500 level player, definitely
Did you think I was just KIDDING?
Screw the stupid tactics trainer.
But for serious? Tactics do absolutely nothing for my chess development? I might have to start a thread on this.
