If you had a membership, you would have the opportunity to play against the computer here. You can adjust the level, for example I consider myself to be a 1600 rated player, but in all reality, more like a 1450 to 1850, depending on the day I am playing and how clear my brain salad is? So setting the computer at your level gives you a very good playing partner, it will not make a stupid move, but gives you the ability to make a better move and if you do not you will lose. When I play against humans I see many more obvious poor moves thus making it seem that I am a great player, but in fact this does not make you dig deeper for more advance play and you will remain stagnant unless you get more worthy opponents. Thus the computer fills that void, and when you play against human players, you will see the weaker moves reveal themselves more readily then before, and you will enjoy your games much more! never knock the computer value, it is a most helpful tool!
Computer Vs. Human; Ups and Downs

The Russians have it right, up the music and down the Vodka! I see alot of talk about humans beating the box with computers learning to basically play more human, via analysis of GM games. Personally I do not play and have little interest in playing a non human opponent. I don't even know what rybka or fritz is, practically. Who really cares what a computer can do re: chess? I suppose one day when we are left with like two openings to chose from a new rating will arise Drunk Chess! Human V. Human V. Bottle.. ah no computer analysis required. How in the world did people get good at chess before the internet? OTB I have found chess to be alot different then online.
