It's a great feature to have on the site because you can visualize what the board will look like before you make the move. Much like playing over the board and moving the piece to the square but not taking your hands off it yet.

It's there on mobile with this platform, just not on web. So let's please only discuss that. Concerning any sort of advantages or disadvantages: very clumsy people or people with parkison's or other handicaps are effectively barred out of playing this game on web. If that is something chess.com is OK with, then shame on this platform and time to move on

My mouse slipped and I lost because of it. Please, add the feature. What's so hard about it?

Just lost a 30 minute game because of this,

why have it on the app but not on the site? What's wrong with giving people options?

Guess I'll just play my serious games on lichess

Avatar of Diezz2

They are willingly not implementing it at this point. It's a feature on mobile. It's a feature on daily games.

Avatar of jonpaulcook

should your really be using it anyway?  seems like a bit of a cheat since you can't do it over the board.  If you click on a piece, you should have to move it, how about that?

Avatar of Entsorger69

lichess.org has it. will be moving there

Avatar of Jeskopa

Yeah this is must have feature, always moving pieces to see what i can do next or think of what the other player might do with my piece in the new slot and drops and takes my move.

I know most can but i battle to play without this function.

I've also been moving to Lichess, and the lack of this feature is one of the primary reasons I will not pay chess.com again next year. It's also just stupid to pay this site for a service that's less than what you get for free over there.

WE URGENTLY NEED A CONFIRM BUTTON FOR BROWSER BUTTON. BUT CHESS.COM IS SO ON AUTISTIC MODE WHAT IT WILL NOT LISTEN TO THIER CUSTOMERS. I WILL REMOVE MY SUBSCRIPTION. CHESS.COM [Removed: no profanities allowed - DB]

@LostSpider - please do not use disabilities and insults, especially in a thread about accessibility

Lost a game because there is no confirm move option in live chess.

How do I stop the automatic castling? If my mouse glides over some square, it castles for me automatically and against my will (especially if doing so will make me lose the game). This is so ridiculous. I should need to drag the king two squares away to castle. Period. Full stop. This is ridiculous. (Ok, I said that, but it bears REPEATING.)

+1 chess.com add this rn

Here's a game where I pinned my opponent's queen (move 22 as white) and then instead of taking it I misclicked and hung my rook. Chess.com NEEDS to add a confirm move button.

This game was a long time ago

We need this feature for web.

Even in bullet? I'd say just stop mouse slipping. As much as it sucks, confirming moves wouldn't be good for having low time controls, so maybe it can be a setting you set individually for each time control.
