Six weeks ago, I was congratulating my nine-year-old son (who goes by PaulEChess) for breaking the 1200 barrier after being below 1000 in November. Today my son hit 1300. He's been working really hard, studying middlegames, tactics and openings and it is really paying off.
I have a deal with him that he gets dinner out at a hibachi restaurant for each 100 points he gains here on chess.com and it is time to pay up again.
