Connect two pawns vs lose one pawn and capture a knight

I have a general question. Should I connect two central pawns, or seize the opportunity to capture the kinght? It is through the end of the game. The opponent had one rook, a knight and a pawn. I had one rook, 3 pawns (2 neighbor lines). What do you think is the best strategy to continue from here? I could lose one pawn and capture the knight, or let the knight go, but connect two central pawns. Thanks

I think it would be easier for people to help if you would put a position in your post for people to look at. happy.png

Why no answer :/

I would take the knight. After Rxe5, Kg2, Rxe4, fxe4, Ke4, Kf3 and you are up a pawn and will get opposition. But you can always analyze the game
