Conspiracy theories about Bobby Fischer

He didn't say it was proven without a doubt, and the mere fact of him making this thread implies he wants to discuss it so he does want "further speculation". Being sarcastic does not make you smart.

This idea is pretty absurd but weirder things have happened. It is possible but I think unlikely. He was showing signs of mental illness before ever going to russia or really becoming a huge chess star.

What point is there in discussing an idea that is "pretty absurd" ?

In all probability, it sounds like another bored troll using the most controversial name/topic ( Bobby Fischer ) to stir up trouble and pointless arguments.

The point of discussing an absurd idea is that some absurd ideas are true, and even if they aren't, their is still value in discussion. This might be a foreign concept to you since you are angry and seem opposed to any sort of discussion except an argument, but there are people out there who value discussion.

The whole idea of a forum is the discussion of ideas, it's not overly presumptious to say that by posting he wanted discussion.

You do not need to be an expert to assert an opinion about a subject. This is what you sound like; I say "I like bananas", you say "OH SO YOU YOU'RE A CULINARY EXPERT NOW? I DIDNT REALIZE YOUVE TRIED EVERY FRUIT AND DETERMINED WHAT YOU LIKED BEST". Plenty of experts are wrong in their field, and not everyone needs to be an expert to give input. Please don't keep repeating this terrible logic in the future, you'll seem less crazy.

So me pressuming he wants discussion on the topic is "rather presumptuous" but you assuming hes a bored troll is fine? I think if we're going to be presumptuous we should atleast be optimistic and not pessimistic.

I don't see what is wrong with such an assertion. What is not wrong with it is this: people can find all manner of irritations or distractions around them. So the fact he was annoyed with them is more than rational. It sounds to me like you are trying to encourage the idea he was 'crazy' because your political beliefs might be opposite to his. Or maybe you are crazy because you cannot come up with obvious explanations.

HEY: To you insane rigid narrow-minded ritualistic hyper-literalists - this thread was in response to all the Fischer/Crazy threads springing up of late and it isn't serious. It's a playful thread. I think the story about Fischer is pretty well understood - he had psychological problems since youth, which only got worse with premature fame, stress and age.  The conspiracy theories was just for silly pointless fun conjecture and to mock the proliferation of Fischer threads (by creating another Fischer thread :-)).  If you don't have a sense of humor, jump in a lake.  It is well understood that that is how you develop a good sense of humor.
