Correlation between chess and atheism.

Really? I'd be interested in knowing how you discovered this. Was it through talking to people at tournaments, reading about it online, or something else.
I myself am decidedly non-religious, but I don't know how big a fraction of the chess community I represent.

I'm a Christian and I've met a number of Christian and other non-atheist chess players. I don't have any idea of the percentages but there are plenty of us around.

Atheism seems to be a current fad. It's just the thing to say so you sound sophisticated.
Not even close in my case. It's a conclusion I came to as a result of years of study and thought. Weak atheism (holding no belief in gods because there is no evidence they exist; unlike strong atheism which is the affirmative assertion that gods don't exist) is the default position. You're born an atheist. Usually it's your parents that indoctrinate you into religion and belief.

If you say there isn't any Heaven, you better pray there is no Hell.
No need to pray. Silly superstitions can't help or hurt you (unless you let them infect your mind.)

when you know the way of control and core facts of the world, you'll less depend on deity and want to rule the world like in chessboard ; besides the deity also wants us to become less dependable to show his greatness of creation .
However it is, yet I am not sure about deity.

You aren't quite understanding Christian teaching. Punishment is deserved, not just for refusing to believe, but because we've all sinned many times. When you refuse to believe, you refuse to accept the way of salvation from that punishment.

If you look at most published studies they all tend to show that as education rises, religiosity falls. Inversely Proportional. The more we understand the universe the less need we feel to assign supernatural responsibility.
I don't really think that what is called "education" these days teaches anyone to "understand the universe." It teaches what to think in order to be a good little mindless clone.

In my experience there seems to abnormally large amount of chess players who happen to be atheists or agnostics.
